WWW:

  • various shots used for the video
  • entertaining and the shots were very clear
  • accurately labelled shots and lots of shots were shown, shows clear understanding  of topic
  • there were lots of shots and camera movement, the music fitted "noice"

  • The focus pull could have been better but overall the video was really good

Mr Halsey:
  • Very opening scene- surely a medium close up?
  • Generally this is well-shot with some good camera movement in particular(the handheld is very smooth,feels like a steadicam shot-impressive)
  • In terms of structure and editing, no obvious structure and the random frames of black were a little strange.
  • Good, comprehensive coverage of what we've learned in cinematography.
With this feedback I can see that I need to work on my focus pulls as it wasn't quite right, however I can see from my classes reaction that I achieved the objective of the task. Also, the first shot was labelled incorrectly as Mr Halsey pointed out, as it was more of a medium shot than a close up. I can also see where I used black space that could have been filled.

Mise-en-scene task (videos)

CLAMPS - mise-en-scene Costume- the characters' costumes are fitting to their roles as wizards as they are dressed in long black robes along with hats which typically connote ideas of witches/wizards. Lighting- the dark lighting suggests that it night time or unexpected missions occur often especially as both wizards seem to be prepared and in control. It also creates a sense of mystery as the dark lighting makes it difficult to see things fully. Actors- The actors look concerned and they walk alongside each other which suggests that they're dealing with an important case- this must mean they are important. Make-up - Dumbledore has a fake beard which connotes a kind of wisdom, and adds age to his character while Hagrid has sweat and dirt on his face which suggests he in charge of hard work. Props- Dumbledore holds a 'Deluminator' which is a prop that adds to the effect of mystery as it removes light. This suggests that the scene has to be secretive and und...
