Park bench, open park setting.



FADE IN FROM BLACK
INSTITUTIONAL LOGO (_____) APPEARS ON SCREEN, SLOW ZOOM OUT

TEXT ON SCREEN: 4 INTERTWINING LIVES

DISSOLVE TO:

INT. LOCATION #1 – DAYTIME
Protagonist- RAYE – walks into the location. She walks through the door into the kitchen.

RAYE picks up the mail and looks through the pile. She drops all but one on the table and opens it.


RAYE
(excited expression, reading the letter aloud)
Dear Raye…

RAYE stops speaking. Solemn expression grows across face.

CUT TO:
INT. LOCATION #2 – RAYE INSIDE OFFICE WITH ADVISOR

RAYE
(hysterical)
What do you mean they have enough students? I worked so hard. So…so hard.

ADVISOR
(sighs)
They have enough of your kind. You don’t have what it takes.

CUT TO:
TEXT ON SCREEN: Changed by a momentary encounter

CUT TO:
INT. LOCATION #1
JOEL enters, throws down the letter from the doctor.

CUT TO:
INT. LOCATION #4 – Doctor’s office. JOEL and the DOCTOR sit at the desk.

JOEL
(shocked, in awe)
Cancer? Lung cancer?

DOCTOR
You need to take it easy from now on. It’s early stages.

                                                                   CUT TO:
EXT. LOCATION #1 STREET CORNER - DEAN walks alongside 2 friends, tracking shot behind them.

 CUT TO: close-up of the lighter in his hand

CUT TO: Group walking around a corner

DEAN and his friends are confronted by a guy and his friends run away.
CUT TO: Dean on the floor covered in blood

Cut to: Dean in his girlfriend’s room
GIRLFRIEND
(crying) How could you not tell me? You’re a faggot!
*NOTE* sound distorted
CUT TO: RAYE on a park bench

DEAN stumbles upon the bench after the fight

DEAN
(to RAYE)
Excuse me, is anyone sitting here?

RAYE
Yeah, sure…
DEAN notices scarring on RAYES arm

DEAN groans in pain as he sits beside her.

RAYE
(reaching to help him sit down)
What happened to you?

DEAN
(sighing)
Ah yeah
(pauses and looks at RAYE’S scars)
Are you okay?
RAYE seizes her arm away and pulls sleeves down.
